The original Apple HomePod has been discontinued for a while now, and the current model, the HomePod Mini was released in November of 2020.
Some people seem to think that the new HomePod will be coming soon:
While others, like Mark Gurman, are predicting a late 2023 release or even an early 2024 release. Unfortunately, the later release date is appearing more and more likely.
This new HomePod won't be another Mini sized HomePod but rather the successor to the original, now discontinued HomePod. Thus the price is expected to remain very similar or identical at $349 dollars.
There is however another rumor floating around that this new HomePod 2 will also have a screen integrated as well as a powerful enough processor to allow for some additional functionality. This is a more interesting rumor and we wonder if this is not the HomePod 2 but an additional product.
