Panasonic GH7 Rumors

Panasonic has registered a camera in China with the model number of P2303A. This has left some wondering if it's the new GH7 or S1X. The only hint we have is that is has dual 5.1/2.4GHz listed which is a more premium type of Wifi. This would be reserved for a more premium camera and probably not an entry level.

GH6 + the new autofocus would be reason enough to launch a GH7. They can throw in a few minor tweaks as well. We will see.

This is what the GH6 should have been. The Panasonic GH7 features:
  • 25.2MP BSI CMOS Micro Four Thirds Sensor (somehow different from the GH6 sensor)
  • 4K60 4:2:2 10-Bit Unlimited Recording
  • 5.7K60, 4K120 HFR, FHD 240p VFR
  • ProRes RAW *internal*, 32-Bit Float, 13+ Stop WDR
  • Dual I.S. 7.5-Stop 5-Axis Stabilizer
  • 3.68m-Dot OLED Electronic Viewfinder
  • 3.0" 1.84m-Dot Free Angle Touchscreen
  • CFexpress Type B & SD UHS-II Card Slots
  • Actual, proper autofocus
  • $2200 USD
So basically they kept the GH6 body, put in a slightly different sensor of the same megapixels, better implemented the feature where it takes the image at two different ISOs to improve DR, added internal RAW, and gave it real autofocus.

Then there is the ability to purchase ARRI log for $200 more. Not relevant to most people but still, not complaining about having this option.
